Notion Ink is the first to have announced Pixel Qi screen integration. This is the first example of the huge revolution that comes with ARM Cortex A9 Power and a Pixel Qi display. This is awesome.

    I wonder if they’ll make a 7 inch version.

  3. onceigoblack says:

lather it up with hot sauce, slap it on the grill and serve me one.

  4. jharavu says:

Exciting. Congratulations to the youngsters who have developed this.

In india its less than 321 dollars,i AM FROM INDIA AND INDIAN GADGETS DON’T HAVE TO PAY LARGE TAXES

  7. RolandDeschain98034 says:

Oh – and I meant it won’t have the PixelQi screen at that price range, I’m sure the PixelQi ones will be at LEAST $600. Also, add the fact that the Adam has an SD card reader while the iPad doesn’t.

  8. RolandDeschain98034 says:

To video maker: I’m a huge Adam supporter, but your price isn’t official yet and it’s virtually guaranteed to not have the PixelQi screen, the HD video hours are 16 on Notion Ink’s website, not 20; and the Kindle DX does have 3G wireless, and you can browse the web with it. (black and white, obviously)

These errors are just giving Crapple fans the excuses they need to say it’s a video full of lies and the maxiPad reigns supreme. Please update your video with the correct info :)

@CokeandMentosCP yes, but still not true MT, Its process offsetting, So I can push an audio stream into the audio stream process but I can say create my own twitter client that periodically checks for @me (unless they create a twitter process api)

This is a great Apple PR, the iPhone already does MT in the sense that they are enabling… just a bigger API that devs can use… nothing like Multi App.

  10. chrisjenx1 says:

I too want one but! The model with the Pixel Qi Screen wont be at the lower price point. would image would be around the $500, also looking like blue tooth may be only available in the US, but that might just be a nasty rumour.

Search for “Notion Ink Adam tablet ”

  16. frontier says:

I would get an iPad and Adam but would skip the ebook.

  17. lobextomy says:

Where is the product? I want to see it in somebody’s hands running programs and doing all kinds of stuff, not just comparisons of what its gonna have but doesnt tell me how good it will work.

  18. CokeandMentosCP says:

    ipad will get multitasking.

  19. fastlambovette says:

All I want to see in the ipad is an app like ms paint witch I’m sure there is and a pen to do that also a much better screen

  20. fastlambovette says:

I’m close to getting a ipad or another tablet acer has a tablet coming out but it has a keypad hp might not even come out with one or might run palm os. Where do I go to get a good tablet 9-12″ also a pen would be kool

  21. tdthrow13 says:

I love how it puts a frowny face under the ipad in the multi touch screen, GPS, and the 3g part even though it has it, and in a few months the ipad will have multitasking in the OS4.0. And the adam hasn’t even come out yet. how would they know it would be $321. Also he made this in imovie.

  22. TwainPvP says:

if this is true its sick

  23. r4nd0mn4me says:

It’s the best of both worlds…but is it worth waiting till November to get your hands on it? I would get one right now if I could. But chances are by the time this gets released, something better will be out.

  24. ROEDERBABY says:

This video is shit. I’m no Apple fanboy or anything, but putting this video merely trying to put down the other competition instead of promoting your own. For shame.

  25. endlessdream94 says:

@Halcyon000 My interest in the Adam is dimming slowly and it has a great deal to do with the biased videos such as this one that act as if the Adam, which is a long way from production (if it even makes it), is soooo great and the iPad is crap. I have an iPad and really enjoy it. I’m also very interested in many of the other tablets coming out. And sure there are things the iPad doesn’t have, but by the time these other tablets finally hit the market the iPad will be in its 2nd gen.

  26. owapoet says:

since it has a usb can i use a keyboard with it (it would also be nice if i could get some kind of openoffice on it)

  27. kailynleto says:

I can’t wait until this comes out!!! Can you fly me to India so I can work to earn one? haha

  28. bluepawn says:

looks not very multitouch or reactive… reading outside… falling down… the shape won’t have a “bumper” to protect the machine… so… it’s really indian made… not tested by end-users at all… but Android and the ink for reading is the future !

  29. Pilkingtube says:

    @Pachangs so turn the tablet on it’s side? I wouldn’t want a square 0_o

  30. Pachangs says:

@Pilkingtube because you have to hold a tablet in your hands….It doesn’t rest on your lap. I would want a more square aspect ratio, closer to a A4 page or even more square than that, if I am going to be holding it with my hands for long periods.

  31. Pilkingtube says:

@Pachangs Works well on my laptop, don’t see why it wouldn’t be fine for a tablet.

  32. Pachangs says:

    @mikehunterpunt
no. It really isn’t. 16:9 is dumb for a tablet.
    There’s a reason an etch a sketch isn’t 16:9. It’s awkward as fuck.

  33. sharanprasanth says:

    good luck and congrats

  34. mikehunterpunt says:

    @Pachangs You’re kidding, right? It’s perfect for a tablet.

  35. jorgehabitualmente says:

India rulezz ;) i have been there for almost a month and i really like it. This product is amazing and thats why i will not buy the ipad even i am a apple fan boy. cant wait to get one. keep up the good work

  36. viniuniverse says:

This is awesome… it has over 140 hours audio and over 16 hours of HD video playback. Standby maybe weeks… I’ll surely buy it…

  37. djbanizza says:

This looks sweet. Only thing that bothers me is that the screen is too reflective. They will probably use matte screen in the final product?

  38. Pachangs says:

16:9 – such a bad aspect ratio for a tablet.
    looks awful.

  39. chrisjenx1 says:

@Charbax in recent reviews late last month they still reckon they will ship in June.
    I sure hope so!

  40. ecsyntric says:

these guys are acting like they stole the device when they are supposed to be the founders

  41. lobextomy says:

Great ideas bandied about, but I call BS to this thing. Give the interviewer the thing and let him run it through its paces. What the fuck kinda demo is that, oohh i can touch it and make colored balls appear. I smell BS

  42. r4nd0mn4me says:

@silversmith8 Sounds like a November release date at the moment.

  43. hal970fx says:

    @Max3vil
This is an ancient prototype running a software build that’s probably older.

  44. hal970fx says:

    @Charbax
At this point it should be released shortly after Android-2.2 is out, because it is supposed to have fully accelerated flash support.

  45. audiotrax2000 says:

This looks a lot more interesting than the ipad. Wish there was some idea of a price.

  46. DuckWalkers says:

@silversmith8 Of course I like a virtual keyboard.

I love the keyboard of my iPod touch, or the iPad.

But that Android Keyboard doesn’t look very comfortable on a 10″ inch sreen in landscape, because for me it looks way smaller than the iPad one.

    Physical Keyboard?
No Way, I don’t wanna use it as an extra computer.

  47. silversmith8 says:

@adaminc What? Really?! I’m leaving for college in August though, and if that’s the Earliest it’ll be out… I was so set on buying this though!! Where did you hear that?

  48. silversmith8 says:

@DuckWalkers you could just get a physical keyboard and connect it, right? One of the tiny foldable portable ones, if you don’t like the idea of a normal one :)

  49. DuckWalkers says:

The only thing I don’t like is the keyboard.
IT HAS TO BE MUCH BIGGER!

Use iPad’s Keyboard as an example.

That could be a reason for me to not buy it…unfortunately.

Even if I think that everything else is awesome.

  50. adaminc says:

@silversmith8 I heard august at the earliest.
